In Football Manager, a rebuild isn’t always loud. Sometimes it starts with a bad season or a broken squad. Sometimes you’re left with half-finished plans and a feeling that it could have… should have… gone differently. That’s where this story starts – with womensfootballfm.com, a quiet rebuild of everything I’d started but hadn’t finished.

The Original Plan

When I first began creating content for women’s football in FM, the plan was simple.
Everything would live on theFFM, my main Football Manager site. I’d add a new section with guides, shortlists and save ideas focused on women’s football in FM25.

It didn’t need to be on its own site, just a natural extension of what was already working.

But then FM25 was cancelled.

The Cancelled Season

Not delayed. Not pushed back. Cancelled.
With no new release date, no roadmap and no idea of what came next, everything I’d been building towards suddenly stalled.

While I didn’t delete anything, I also didn’t know what to do with it anymore.

The content I’d planned just didn’t feel right. Not because it wasn’t good. But because the foundation I’d built it on had disappeared.

When there’s no game, what do you build around?

So I paused.
And I waited.

Taking a Break

Then I stepped away.

I let the drafts sit in a folder.
I stopped the posts, the outlines and the upload schedule.
I read more. Played other games. Watched women’s football just to enjoy it again, without the pressure of “turning it into content”.

But I kept coming back to the idea that women’s football in Football Manager could still matter, even without a confirmed release date.

Starting Over

Eventually, I realised that this wasn’t just a break.
It was a rebuild.

Not a panic reset. Not a rushed launch.
But the kind of long-term FM save where you strip things back and build it properly.

I thought to myself, maybe I don’t need to force this into a corner of theFFM… maybe it needs its own space.

Welcome to womensfootballfm.com.
A home, not just a section.

What I’ve Built (So Far)

Everything here on WFFM has been rebuilt from the ground up. Slowly, deliberately and with the same care I’d give to any long-term Football Manager project.

The site is built specifically for women’s football in Football Manager, with content on the way for beginners, player scouting, and save ideas built around the women’s game.

It’s not finished yet.
No good rebuild ever is.
But the core is in place – and every part of WFFM is designed to grow with the women’s game in Football Manager.

Why This Rebuild Stayed Quiet

Because FM burnout is real.
Because after FM25’s cancellation, a lot of us were tired.
And because I didn’t want to promise a full launch if I wasn’t emotionally there yet.

This time, I’m building slowly.
Not chasing clicks.
Not trying to be everywhere at once.

Just doing the work.
In the background.
Until it’s ready.

If You’ve Been With Me Since theFFM

Thank you.

This project might’ve started as a section.
But thanks to you – your feedback, your patience, your belief in what women’s football in FM could be – it’s grown into something with its own voice.

From theFFM to WFFM, this isn’t just a rebuild.
It’s a restart, with a purpose.
